WAH! I’m so behind!

Matt O'Neill, MattyDONeill, LGBT, Gay, Lesbian, Show Host

Yes, I’ve developed a beard as well. Thoughts?

I’m so sorry I fell very much behind in my posting.  I’ve been very busy with media “stuff”.  As many of you know who have been following me from the beginning, I love to host, entertain, and meet the stars.  My ultimate dream is to end up on television either in a hit reality show, on the red carpet interviewing Hollywood, or most excitedly, have my own talk show.  In the past month, my dreams have been taking all the right baby steps forward.

To catch you all up on some of the stuff I’ve been working on, here is an end of the year (more like last month and a half) recap of what has been going on: Continue reading

Mike Jerrick and I at Philly Fashion Week

I had the opportunity to hang out with one of my role models, Mike Jerrick, last month during Philly Fashion Week.  He’s a huge promoter of the event.  Needless to say, interviewing an interviewer, we both fought for the center stage with question asking.  He may have won in the end however.  Check it out!

Also be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more fun.  I have some great videos in the works for you all.

Life Isn’t a Menu

girls night out

I was talking to a friend about our dating lives.  He told me that he can never seem to find Mr. Right.  People were always offering to take him to dinner, woo him with drinks at the bar, and complement his hair, eyes and physic.  Of course he was an attractive guy, had a decent income from a steady job, and had a personality that just made you want to talk for hours.  So why was he still single?  If he wanted a boyfriend he could have easily picked one up months ago, but instead he continues to hunt for that next best thing.  He has what I like to call “restaurant syndrome” — he has a menu of options but can’t decide what he wants.  Life isn’t a menu, you’ll never settle on an order if you keep looking for the next best thing. My Adventure with America’s Oldest Folk Festival

To start, Happy New Year!  After a much needed break from writing I’m back in action!

Mummers 2013The Mummer’s is considered to be one of the oldest Folk Festivals in the United States.  For those of you that have never had the opportunity to observe what goes on in the streets, it’s pretty much an eight  hour parade celebrating much of our heritage whether it be English, German, Irish or even African.  It’s the one day every year where those within the City of Brotherly Love all unite in the streets in order to eat, drink and be merry with both family and friends.  The culture of the parade is long and deep so if you want to learn more about this 17th Century tradition, Wikipedia has it all here. What 2012 Gave Me

End of the worldFor those of you that didn’t drink the “special” punch laced with arsenic from their latest end of the world parties…I think it’s safe to say that we will be continuing our lives as normal.  Now that it’s the end of yet another year, I thought it would be a great time to reflect on what a transitional year this was for me personally.  Thanks to a multitude of situations and people, I can safely state that I am both relieved and excited to see what is going to come in the next 12 months. My Undies Run

So some of you may know, I’m a huge sap when it comes to helping kids.  So of course one of my friends asked me to run in a Philadelphia charity event early next year for the Children’s Tumor Foundation.  It’s called the Cupid’s Undie Run Benefit.  It’s an organization dedicated to ending Neurofibromatosis (NF) through research. NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, causing blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain.

Currently, there is no cure for NF and there are frighteningly few treatment options. Continue reading
