We’re going to die in 2012…face it.

So 2012 is the year to end all years.  That’s right…we are all going to die.  I don’t want to be the one that puts the damper on all the New Years festivities, you can blame that one on the Mayans.  Do you think that they knew way back, when they created a calendar that counted down, they would be screwing those of us that are alive today?  It seems unpractical that someone would count down rather than count up.  It seems as though that is a very pessimistic way of thinking.  Today we look at a new year as a new idea and a new beginning.  A reason to start over, to start with something new.  Maybe that is starting a new idea or trying to reach a personal goal.  Maybe it’s something bigger.  Maybe it’s starting a new lifestyle.  For me, it’s starting over.  Looking at the past year I have had an assortment of changes.  I finished school for the rest of my life (THANK GOD!), I’ve started a new career, and I’ve moved on from someone I didn’t think was going to leave me.  Is this how every year is? Is there ever a year that you have looked back on and thought…what a waste of a year…?

Last night I went out with friends as usual.  Drank a lot and had a great time at the bars.  We all were enjoying ourselves except for one.

You’re How Poor?!? A College Kid’s Guide

So like I have mentioned I graduated last May.  I was lucky enough to get an awesome job since then doing exactly what I went to school for.  Now while this has limited my weekday fun, it has not hindered my ability to still interact with some of my old friends that I have made since I was in school.  So I figured I would throw together this little guide as to how I was able to live life on a budget through my second semester of college.  As we all know, come your return to school, the money you worked so hard to collect all summer with that simple seasonal job…just isnt there anymore.  So here are some things that I used to help me get by.

Phantom Friends

So I hope you all had a very wonderful Christmas.  I’m back from a nice little three-day weekend and it’s time to blog once again.  I was creeping around the internet and I came across this article regarding Twitter. Now I know I am representing my company’s face with the online world as that was what I was hired to do, but I do not personally own a twitter.  I think it’s a simpler version of a Facebook and I really do not see the need to own one because I noticed most people who own twitter have their Facebook and Twitter’s linked up. This means unless they have a different following on their Twitter, people just end up reading the same thing twice…which is dumb.  But anyway onto my story, and those of you that are like me, you can relate as long as you have SOME sort of social media site.  There was a man named Noah Kravitz, who was in charge of all his company’s social media sites.  He was a big Twitter…er (Twater?).  His company had a following of over 17,000.  Noah ended up leaving the company on good terms and with him, came his followers.

It’s cool to be an escort

Last night…I’m not really sure what happened but it ended up being escorts and trannies against us.

Every Friday my friends and I get together and drink…a lot. We always have a great time pre-gaming before we eventually head out into the night and end up at a gay club called ICandy. It’s so much fun usually, the older kids head up to the bar to flirt with old men in the hopes of getting free drinks, while the young guys stay downstairs and dance the night away on the, much to small, dance floor. This is where most of the drama takes place. Like last night.

Intel® The Museum of Me

Who doesn’t love themselves?  Well I know if I could marry myself I certainly would.  Here is a link to create a museum of yourself based off of your interactions within Facebook.  I think it is a really cool idea and it was very well thought out thanks to Intel.  What they are trying to market I am not sure, this may be a way to link Intel to your Facebook by allowing them access to your files indirectly.  If it is, that’s very sneaky but, when you think about it, how many other people have already had access to some form of your identity already?

What do I do now?

So to begin I feel it may be appropriate to explain a little about what I do and where I come from.  I grew up in the suburbs just below South Philadelphia.  I have two siblings, one older and one younger, and two loving parents that will, I’m sure, become the topics of many posts.  Today I work as a marketer for a company that sells coaching methods to other people within my boss’s industry.  I do not want to give TO much away because I want to make sure I still have a job at the end of this post!  I love my job, I love my friends and I love my family, I feel that I am very fortunate to have what I have today but I can tell you it has not been easy.  I have grown up as a very tolerant person and feel as though I do not get stressed out very easily by those around me.  This I have found is a very rare attribute but a very resourceful one indeed.  That being said…I have been known to blow my top at some of the most inopportune times.  I also have a very sarcastic sence of humor which, again, has not always been the best blessing in my case.  Just yesterday I offended my co-worker because I told her that the only reason I was able to hear my phone was because I still had young ears.  Bad move.  She held onto that comment and later brought it back up while we were meeting with a client in New York, referencing that she would like to introduce herself first because “Matt has mentioned that I am the older and more frail of the two of us.”  To be fair I have a great office.  We all can joke and play as we wish and we all understand that it is all in good fun.  A happy office is an officent office right?  Well I guess I know to leave the old lady comments at home.
